The lantern sale will be June 13th from 9am to 3pm in the Auditorium. This will be the only day and location for a sale. You can pay with cash, a check or through PayPal. We ask that you wear a mask when coming to the sale and maintain a 6' separation if there is a line. On June 27th we will ring the Auditorium bells at 8:30pm to encourage people to light their lanterns.

Grievance Day is still happening with some modifications:

In-person viewing of the roll requires an appointment.

We want to try and work with folks first before they file a complaint (call us, email us).  If we can help we will.  There is only 1 person in our office at a time.  The other 2 work from home.  We rotate.

If we can’t come to an agreement, we are strongly encouraging folks to drop off a complaints with a short explanation of why you believe you are over-assessed, together with your proof (comparables, interior photos, appraisal if they already have one, structural reports, etc.).  We will then give it to the Board to make a decision.  The BAR does not give decisions on Grievance day.  Decisions are received on July 1st.  The BAR will give drop-offs the same consideration as in person meetings.  I would estimate that 90% of our folks drop-off.

If you request an in person meeting with the board, you MUST have an appointment.  Maximum of two people can appear, face masks required.  Original and 5 copies required so the BAR isn’t passing papers back and forth.  We recommend you stay in their car until your appointment.  We will disinfect after each person leaves.  Appointments are 10 minutes and will be strictly enforced.

Telephone appointments are also available.  Complaint, attachments and 5 copies must be received prior to Grievance day so that the BAR has them in hand.  We will call the property owner at the designated time.  10 minutes will be strictly enforced so as not to inconvenience the next caller, appointment, etc.

First responders:  911 Call Centers know the location of individuals under COVID-19 quarantine, so if there is an emergency in those homes (e.g. fire), the information will be passed on to first responders.
